Program Information

WHO: Boys and Girls aged from 2 to 4 years

WHERE: St Francis of Assisi school gym

WHEN: 9:00am – 9:40am TUESDAY mornings

COST: $5 per session

Our 40 minute sessions aim to guide the children through structured activities, as a group, to teach and encourage them to listen to instructions and cooperate within a group. Children will also learn important social skills when interacting with other children. We also allow children time to explore at their own pace and discover what their bodies are capable of.

We’ll also come to your Childcare centre or Kindergarten and run a program there!

Our KINDER Sports participants are given a ‘PASSPORT to a Healthy and Active lifestyle’. Each week the children are given a stamp for practising a particular skill. Once they’ve collected 5 stamps for that skill, they’ll receive a badge which can be ironed on and proudly displayed on their uniform or other clothing. These encouragement badges are extremely motivating for children of this age.

Fundamental Movement Skills are the building blocks for movement.  They are the skills which children need to participate successfully in all types of games, physical activities and sports.  Examples of these skills can be frequently seen in popular games played by children.

Research shows that children who are competent in fundamental movement skills are more likely to enjoy sports and activities and to develop a lifelong commitment. Research also suggests that children who do not master FMS are more likely to drop out of physical activity later in life.

Many of our activities come from the Kiddo program.
